Bola Longe, the Commissioner of Police in the state, disclosed this on Sunday.

Omaku allegedly snatched the electoral materials  from  the Kofar Abari Bunu Polling Unit in Unguwar Galadima Ward in the Doma local government area of the state.

According to the CP, Omaku was questioned over the alleged incident but the suspect denied any knowledge of it.

Omaku was subsequently released on bail, Longe added.

“The command is aware that Omaku was alleged to have snatched electoral materials in Doma. We arrested him, but the suspect denied that he snatched electoral materials.

“The suspect said he went to a polling unit in Doma as an accredited observer, but he was attacked by some voters and rescued by policemen. We have also interrogated the policemen  that were there.

“After the suspect was questioned, he was granted bail, but if we have more evidence against him, we will invite him for further questioning,” Longe said.
